The SMC is a long established group of friends with a love for the mountains and the outdoors. We currently have around 100 members of all ages and abilities. We meet every Tuesday evening, all year round, for a short and sociable walk around the Shropshire Hills ending with a visit to a local country pub. The climbers also meet on Thursday evenings; outdoors in the summer and indoors in winter or when the weather is bad.
We also organise day walks in nearby mountain areas every month and regularly throughout the year we visit our club hut in Snowdonia. We also have weekend or longer trips to our favourite destinations such as the Lake District, Scotland, the Alps and Spain to name a few.
